SMART is making progressive strides in the future of public transportation to provide more convenient, modern and customer friendly service for its riders.
Beginning this February 2010, SMART is installing new fareboxes on all fixed route buses from funds received for capital purchases from the American Recovery and Reinvestment Act (ARRA).
Also, in an effort to become “greener” and reduce operating expenses, SMART has converted its fixed route bus fleet to biodiesel fuel.
