How do I know if I am eligible for ADA services?
To determine ADA Eligibility look under the  Ride SMART tab, click on ADA Services and follow the ADA Eligibility & Applications link. How long do I have to wait for my ADA application to be certified?
Once the completed application in received by our SMART ADA Coordinator a determination is made within 21 days. You will receive notification  of the determination in writing.

What are the hours and days of ADA service?
SMART provides ADA service during the same days and hours that the
fixed route system is in operation. If a person can travel to a destination using the fixed route at a certain time of day, an ADA eligible person is also able to travel to the same destination using ADA service. Likewise, if a person cannot travel to a destination using the fixed route at a certain time of day, SMART is unable to provide ADA service.

What number do I call to schedule an ADA trip?
You can reserve trips on the SMART ADA service by calling 1-800-624-3450 or the ADA service T.D.D. number at 1-800-624-3455.

Do you provide bus service to/from Metro Airport?
Yes,
Route 125 Fort Street) and Route 280 ( Middlebelt South) provide service to/from Detroit Metropolitan Airport.

Assistance (ADA)

I need assistance boarding/de-boarding. Can I bring a caregiver with me and how much does it cost?
One Personal Care Attendant (PCA) may accompany you at no additional charge.  A PCA is anyone whose purpose is to help you meet your mobility needs.  You must reserve the space for your PCA when scheduling your trip
