Where are the Park & Ride lots located?

Park and Ride Service is a designated parking lot where passengers are allowed to park their cars and catch a SMART bus.   

Park & Ride locations are designated by a P on the System Map.  With the exception of the Park & Ride lot on Sherman Drive at Lafayette in Royal Oak where 12-hour metered parking is available, there is no charge to leave your vehicle in most designated Park & Ride lots.

Passes
Do I need cash or do you offer passes?
Fareboxes accept dollar bills and coins. Please have exact fare. SMART bus operators can not give change.  Passes can be purchased on-line, by mail or at SMART Bus Pass Outlets. For more information on Fares and passes look under

How do I schedule a ride? 
For an Advanced Reservation call 866-962-5515, listen for the prompt for Connector/Small Bus; then Connector Reservations. Call no more than two (2) days in advance to schedule a ride and six (6) days in advance for medical reservations.
Rides are available to anyone on a first come first served basis, but limited to a pre-determined geographical areas. For more information the types of services offered look under the Ride SMART tab , then click on the  Connector Services link.

 

What if I miss my bus or it doesn’t show up? 
Call
866-962-5515 Connector/Small Bus and listen for the prompt for Same Day Service/Cancellation. You will then be connected with the dispatcher, who can assist you.

 

What number can I call for route information? Is there an after hours number?
The Customer Information Office (866-962-5515) is open Monday through Friday from 6:30 a.m. to 6:00 p.m. Currently, there is no after hours phone service 

What number do I call to schedule an ADA trip?
You can reserve trips on the SMART ADA service by calling 1-800-624-3450 or the ADA service T.D.D. number at 1-800-624-3455.

Where can I get an ADA application?
Applications are available online under
the  Ride SMART tab , click on ADA Services and follow the ADA Eligibility & Applications link. Applications can also be ordered over the phone by calling  T.D.D. number at 1-800-624-3455, (313) 223-2100, or by a request in writing mailed to SMART, Attention: ADA Office, 535 Griswold Street, Suite 600, Detroit, MI 48226

 

Where can I get schedules?
For Fixed Route service click on
Routes & Schedules, if you are looking for a schedule using a Connector Service or Community Transit look under the Ride SMART tab, click on  Services by Community. ADA Schedules follow the same schedule as our Fixed Route buses. Schedules can be emailed to you by clicking on the e-mail option from the Routes and Schedules page or you call Customer Service at 866-962-5515 to request schedules by mail
