I/75 Gateway Construction Service InformationTo help you maneuver through MDOT’s Ambassador Bridge Gateway project, SMART has included all the information you need on this page. Gateway Express
Gateway Express is a new bus route jointly operated by SMART and the Detroit Department of Transportation (DDOT). The new service runs Monday through Friday during rush hours from Downriver to downtown Detroit. The route travels along Michigan’s first High Occupancy Vehicle (HOV) lane.
Gateway Express will pick up commuters at three Park & Ride lots:
- Gibraltar Trade Center on the south side of Eureka Road, one block west of I-75 in Taylor
- Faith Christian Church on the north side of Outer Drive about a half of a mile west of I-75 in Melvindale
- Melvindale lot located on the northeast corner of Allen Road and Outer Drive in Melvindale
Regular cash fare is $2.00 one way beginning March 1. For more information, please call SMART customer service at (866) 962-5515.
