We need your help!

SMART ridership is continuing to increase at an unprecedented rate and is reaching new levels never seen before.  As you’ve surely noticed, our buses are experiencing increased volumes.  To help keep the buses on-time, SMART has adjusted schedules, added trips to high-demand routes and initiated new practices like exiting through the rear doors.  These changes have helped; we will continue to monitor our routes and make improvements when possible.

However, we need your help!

There are two simple things you can do to help keep the buses moving and stay on-time:

  1. Have your fare ready.  Before the bus arrives at your stop, have your cash fare or bus pass ready to insert into the fare box.  If everyone is ready to pay their fare upon boarding, the lines move quicker and the driver can keep on schedule.
  2. Please have exact fare.  SMART buses are equipped with electronic fare boxes designed to accept exact fare only.  Fare boxes and drivers cannot give change.

We appreciate your help to keep SMART running smoothly so that all our customers will reach their destination on-time.

Thank you for riding SMART
