To become a SMART vendor means to participate in the procurement process. SMART is committed to the concept of full and open competition. In order to meet this commitment, SMART must bridge the gap between the unique requirements of SMART and the exact suppliers of those requirements. The identification of discrete suppliers is an ongoing and repetitive process, which must be accomplished quickly and precisely.
SMART utilizes the The Michigan Inter-governmental Trade Network to precisely identify suppliers. The Michigan Inter-governmental Trade Network known as the MITN System is an Internet-based web site where vendors can easily be notified of bid opportunities throughout Michigan.
Potential business partners simply register with MITN at any time.
Steps to Register Online
1. Go to www.mitn.info
2. Click on the link to "Vendor Registration"
3. Review your options:
E-mail Notification:
· Automatically notifies you when you match bids, quotes, addendums and awards.
· One low fee of $49.95 per year covers all member agencies
Free Registration (No Notification):
· You must search daily for new bids, quotes, addendums and awards.
· You are not notified when you match any new information
4. Complete the online registration form.
5. Login to see if any documents are still open that match your company.
