Please do not reproduce, duplicate, or copy anything contained on this website without first obtaining written permission of SMART.
Collection of Information
General Users. SMART will not collect any personal information about you without your knowledge. It is not necessary that you provide SMART with any personal information in order to browse most of the website. However, before you access certain website features, SMART may ask you to provide personal information about yourself such as your name, address, e-mail address, and telephone number. SMART uses this information primarily to send you personalized information about service changes, special events, and other news. SMART and its partners will only send correspondence to you which you have authorized on the “MySMART” registration page. You may change your personal settings, change your personal information, delete your account, or request to stop receiving correspondence at any time by visiting the “MySMART” page (www.smartbus.org/smart/MySmart/Login.aspx) and clicking on the “Edit My Profile” link.
Purchasing. In order to make a purchase on the SMART website, you will need to provide SMART with certain personal information. This may include, but is not limited to, your name, address, email address, telephone number, credit card number, and shipping and billing information.
Employment. In order to submit an application for employment on the SMART website, you will be asked to provide certain personal information. This may include, but is not limited to, your name, address, email address, telephone number, employment history, education information, social security number, driver’s license number, and date of birth.
Business Registration. A business entity attempting to register on the SMART website will be required to provide information which may include, but is not limited to, name, address, email address, telephone number, and state and federal tax identification numbers.
Distribution of Information
In general, SMART will not disclose or release any personal information you provide on this website to any third-party without your permission. However, SMART will release personal information to third-parties if doing so is required to provide the product or service you have requested. Because SMART is a public agency subject to the Michigan Freedom of Information Act (FOIA), we may be required to release certain information collected on the website if a proper FOIA request is made. Also, SMART will release information as required by law or court order.
