Winter Weather Tips

During the winter season it’s a good idea to be prepared when riding the bus.

Don't Forget To:

  • Dress warm and in layers

  • Be patient and anticipate there may be delays in service

To find out about weather related service changes:

  • Check out www.smartbus.org prior to leaving to determine if your route is operating.   From the home page you can directly link to service change information.

  • Call SMART Customer Service at (866) 962-5515.  Customer Service Operators are available Monday through Friday 6:30 AM to 6:00 PM.

SMART Bus Stop Tips:

  • Flag the bus driver

  • Stand at a safe place near the bus stop

  • Anticipate possible delays.  When possible, try and take an earlier trip.

Snow Emergency Guidelines:

  • When a Snow Emergency is in effect, some SMART Fixed Routes maybe either eliminated or shortened 

  • Please check on SMART’s website for updated information or listen to your local media station

  • During a Snow Emergency SMART Connector service is generally limited to medical emergency trips (dialysis) and ADA trips.  Connector riders should call Customer Service Operators (866) 962-5515 to confirm their trip.
