Beginning Monday, April 22, 2024, the park and ride lot at Beech Daly and Graham will no longer be an official SMART park and ride lot. The Beech Daly and Graham lot will be replaced with a new park and ride lot located on Beech Daly south of Seven Mile between Pickford and Curtis at Claude Allison Park. Passengers may use that lot to catch the 280 Middlebelt or 805 Grand River Park and Ride.

Beginning Monday, April 22, 2024, Route 430 Main St will no longer be traveling south of Royal Oak Transit Center along Campbell/Hilton. This routing will now be served by the new Route 492 Rochester. There will also be the addition of three new trips serving Royal Oak Middle School and Royal Oak High School. 

This will include one new morning northbound trip as well as two new morning southbound trips.

Beginning Monday, April 22, 2024, SMART will be implementing a new route that will travel from Oakland University Main Campus and serve Walton/University, Rochester Rd, Oakland Mall via Metro Parkway to John R, back to Rochester Rd via Maple, Royal Oak Transit Center, 11 Mile, and Campbell/Hilton to the State Fair Transit Center.

Beginning Monday, April 22, 2024, the east end of Route 790 Pontiac Crosstown will be reconfigured between Amazon Pontiac and the end of the line which will be extended to Marketplace Circle at Adams and M59 in Rochester Hills.

From Amazon Pontiac the 790 will serve Opdyke between Featherstone and University, Oakland University West Campus, Oakland University Main Campus, Squirrel Rd, Chrysler Dr, OCC Auburn Hills, Downtown Auburn Hills, and Adams from Auburn to Marketplace Blvd.

Beginning Monday, April 22, 2024, the Northland Park and Ride lot located on the northbound M-10 Service Drive north of Northland Dr (behind Costco) will no longer be an official SMART park and ride lot. This lot will be replaced by the OCC lot on the west side of Rutland (lot closer to freeway) south of 9 Mile.

This will require the routing on the 851 to change in order for morning trips to serve the stop on southbound Rutland south of 9 Mile. The new routing is as follows:

Southbound:  Regular route to Exit 14B “9 Mile Rd”, left 9 Mile Rd, right Rutland, serve stop on southbound Rutland at OCC P&R Lot entrance, keep right to northbound M-10 Service Dr, right 9 Mile Rd, regular route.

Beginning Monday, April 22, 2024, the following routes will include a new timepoint listed as the State Fair Transit Center with an accompanying bay number:

Routes 405 Northwestern Highway, 450/460 Woodward, 461/462 FAST Woodward, 492 Rochester, 494 Dequindre, and 495 John R.

These timepoints are in preparation for the move into the new Jason Hargrove Transit Center which will not go into effect until May 11^th. Until then both SMART and DDOT will continue using the current lot at the State Fairgrounds and no routing will change.

We will have more information regarding the move to the Jason Hargrove Transit Center as the date approaches.

Due to the NFL Draft activities in downtown Detroit, Routes 461/462 FAST Woodward will be on detour beginning Saturday, April 20, 2024, through Tuesday, April 23, 2024, at 8:00 pm, as follows:

Southbound: Regular  route on southbound Woodward Ave to MLK Jr Blvd, right MLK Jr Blvd, left Cass Ave, left Michgan Ave, right Washington Blvd, regular route.

Northbound: Route will begin at the bus stop on westbound Congress just west of Beaubien, right Washington, regular route.

Due to the NFL Draft activities in downtown Detroit, Routes 255, 620, 635, and 830 will be on detour beginning Monday, April 15, 2024, through Tuesday, April 23, 2024, as follows:

Westbound 255 & Southbound 620, 635, 830: Regular route on westbound Congress past Randolph, right Griswold, regular route.

Eastbound 255 & Northbound 620, 635, 830: Will operate on regular route.

Due to the NFL Draft activities in downtown Detroit, Route 530 Schoenherr will be on detour beginning April 15, 2024, through Tuesday, April 23, 2024, as follows:

Southbound:  Regular route on southbound Gratiot to Antietam Ave, left Antietam Ave, right Rivard, right Larned into Congress past Randolph, right Griswold, regular route.

Northbound:  Regular route to eastbound Larned past Randolph,  left I-375 Service Dr, left Antietam, right Gratiot Ave, regular route.

Due to construction at the corner of Sherman Dr and Lafayette Ave, Routes 430 Main Street-Big Beaver, and 740 Twelve Mile Crosstown will be on detour beginning Monday, April 8, 2024, until further notice as follows:

Southbound and Northbound 430 & Eastbound and Westbound 740:  Regular route to southbound Lafayette Ave, past Sherman Dr, left though parking lot behind Royal Oak Transit Center, right Sherman Dr, regular route.

Passengers desiring to board and deboard at the Royal Oak Transit Center Sherman Dr bus stop may do so at the temporary bus stop located on Sherman Dr, just south of the Transit Center.

Due to construction at the corner of Sherman Dr and Lafayette Ave, Routes 460 Woodward Local, and 730 Ten Mile Crosstown will be on detour beginning Monday, April 8, 2024, until further notice as follows:

Southbound 460 & Westbound 730:  Regular route to southbound Lafayette Ave, past Sherman Dr, left though parking lot behind Royal Oak Transit Center, right Sherman Dr, regular route.

Northbound 460 & Eastbound 730:  Will operate on regular route.

Passengers desiring to board and deboard at the Royal Oak Transit Center Sherman Dr bus stop may do so at the temporary bus stop located on Sherman Dr, just south of the Transit Center.

Due to gas line work on eastbound 9 Mile Rd just east of Hoover Rd, the bus stop at this location will be temporarily relocated 250 ft eastward effective Monday, April 1, 2024, until further notice.

Due to construction work on 8 Mile Rd at Telegraph Rd, and northbound Telegraph between Grand River Ave and 7 Mile Rd, Routes 275 & 375 will be on detour effective Friday, March 22, 2024, until further notice as follows.

Northbound 275: Regular route on Telegraph Rd, right Grand River Ave, left 1^st turnback to westbound Grand River Ave past Telegraph Rd, right Winston, left 7 Mile Rd, regular route.

Northbound 375: Regular route on Grand River Ave past Telegraph Rd, right Winston, left 7 Mile Rd, regular route.

Southbound: Regular route on southbound Telegraph Rd past 9 Mile Rd (allow passengers to board/deboard at stop just south of 9 Mile Rd), left 2^nd or 3^rd turnback to northbound Telegraph Rd, right 9 Mile Rd, right Berg Rd, right 8 Mile Rd past Telegraph Rd, regular route.

Due to construction work on northbound Telegraph between Grand River Ave and 7 Mile Rd, Route 280 will be on detour effective Friday, March 22, 2024, until further notice as follows.

Due to railroad track construction on Hilton Rd, Route 430 Main St. will be on detour effective Tuesday, January 30, 2024 until further notice as follows:

Due to construction on the Southfield Rd bridge over the Ecorse River, Route 140 Southshore will be on detour beginning Tuesday, January 9, 2024 until further notice as follows:

Southbound:  Regular route on southbound Southfield Rd to Fort, right Fort, left 1^st turnback to northbound Fort, right Outer Dr, right Jefferson Ave past Southfield Rd, regular route.

Northbound:  Regular route on Jefferson Ave past Southfield Rd, left Outer Dr, right Fort, left 1^st turnback to southbound Fort, right Southfield Rd, regular route.

Southbound passengers desiring to board/deboard at the stop on eastbound Southfield Rd just east of Fort, may do so at the stop on northbound Fort, just north of Southfield Rd. Northbound passengers desiring to board/deboard at the stop on westbound Southfield Rd just west of Jefferson Ave, may do so at the temporary stop on northbound Jefferson Ave, just north of Southfield Rd.

Due to construction on westbound Michigan Ave across from the Dearborn Transit Center, the bus stop located in this area has been temporarily closed, effective immediately.

Due to construction on westbound Northland Dr, the bus stop located in this area has been temporarily closed, effective Friday, October 20, 2023.

Passengers desiring to board and deboard at this bus stop may do so at the bus stop located around the corner, on northbound Northwestern Hwy.

Effective Monday, October 16, 2023, due to ongoing safety concerns at 12 Mile Road near Beck Road, Route 805 Grand River Park & Ride will be detoured until further notice. Modified routing is as follows:

Westbound: Regular route to Novi Road, right 12 Mile Road, left first turnback to westbound 12 Mile Road, end route at the first stop on 12 Mile Road west of Novi Road.

Eastbound: Trips will begin at the first stop on southbound Novi Road south of 12 Mile Road, outside Midas.

Service on 12 Mile Road west of Novi and to the Beck-12 carpool lot will be discontinued until further notice. 805 passengers wishing to ride into Detroit can utilize SMART’s other park & ride lots at Halsted & Hallwood (Bonaventure Skate Center), Beech-Daly & Graham (Western Graham Fields), or eastbound Schoolcraft & Fenton.

Due to the Construction on southbound Fort just south of Outer Dr, the bus stop just south of Outer Dr will be temporarily closed, effective immediately until further notice.

Due to construction on Elizabeth Lake Rd east of Telegraph Rd, Route 790 Pontiac Crosstown will be on detour effective Monday, July 31, 2023 until further notice as follows:

Eastbound: Regular route to eastbound Elizabeth Lake Rd, left Telegraph Rd, right 1^st driveway to Oakland Point Shopping Center, right at stop sign,  left Forman Mills parking lot (second to the last aisle), left main service road, regular route.

Westbound: will operate on regular route.

Due to construction on the MLK Blvd bridge, Route 796 buses will be on detour effective Monday, July 3, 2023 until further notice as follows:

Westbound: Regular route to northbound Woodward Ave past MLK Blvd, right South Blvd, left MLK Blvd, regular route.

Due to road construction on Gratiot Ave between 14 Mile Rd and Wellington Crescent, the following bus stops will be temporarily closed, beginning Monday April 10, 2023 until further notice. The chart below lists all stops along this section of Gratiot, with the stops that will be closed highlighted in grey.  If your stop has been closed, please proceed to the next closest stop listed.

Due to activity in the Pontiac Amazon parking lot located in the northeast corner of the property, the bus stop located in that lot has been temporarily relocated to the shelter between the two buildings. See map below.

Due to construction on the new Detroit-Amazon Transit Center, the current State Fair Transit Center will permanently close effective end of day Sunday, November 6. All SMART routes serving the transit center will be relocated until further notice as follows:

405 Northwestern, 430 Main St, 494 Dequindre, 495 John R: Will board and deboard in the parking lot 500 feet north of State Fair, at the west end of the island at the marked SMART stop.

450/460 Woodward Local & 461/462 FAST Woodward: Will no longer board and deboard on Woodward; passengers can board inside the temporary transit center, at the SMART stop on the island in the parking lot.

Due to the water main construction on westbound Grand River Ave between I-275 and Haggerty Rd, the bus stop located on Grand River just west of I-275 will be temporarily closed beginning Friday, September 9, 2022 until further notice.
