Detroit SMART Bus is hands down the easiest, most affordable and economical fixed route service around! This Detroit public transportation program serves Macomb County, portions of Oakland County, and suburban Wayne County communities and simply proves to be community transit at its finest.
Community transit as a "grass roots" program: by being community-based, the SMART Community Partnership Program has been able to allow local communities and groups to become partners with SMART, sharing in the responsibility of operating efficient transportation based on each community's specific needs. In fact, the SMART team helped to develop its Community Based Service Plans by taking comments and suggestions from each of the voting communities it serves - meaning that each community offers its own unique services.
