Effective the week of September 7, 2026, minor and moderate adjustments to runtimes on routes across the SMART network will take effect on weekdays, Saturdays and Sundays.

As a reminder, SMART operates a Sunday schedule on Labor Day. Therefore, routes without a Sunday schedule will not run for the day.

Your routes' schedules may have changed; check ahead of planning your trip by using the schedule preview tool on smartmovesus.org or by calling the customer service line at 866-962-5515.

Effective Tuesday, September 8, 2026, route 250 Ford Road will see significant service improvements to weekday and Saturday service! Details are as follows:

Weekdays: Frequency improvements from 60 minutes to 30 minutes throughout the day. Select trips continue south of Michigan Avenue as 140 Southshore; deboard as usual and reboard to continue on route 140.

Saturday: New service! Trips run hourly from 6 a.m. to 10 p.m. from Westland Meijer to Dearborn Transit Center Bay #2.

Route 255 Ford Express trips will continue as scheduled until further notice. Stay tuned for future service improvements along Ford Road. Please check your schedules ahead of riding at smartmovesus.org or call customer service at 866-962-5515.

Beginning Monday, Sept. 7, 2026, service on Route 500 Mound-Hamtramck begins! Details are as follows:

Northbound: From Larned & Griswold to Bel Air Center via Larned, Woodward, Mack, John R, Warren, Brush, E. Grand Blvd, Woodward, Holbrook, Joseph Campau, Caniff, Mound, and 8 Mile.

Southbound: From Bel Air Center to Larned & Griswold via 8 Mile, Mound, Caniff, Joseph Campau, Holbrook, Woodward, W. Grand Blvd, Cass, Baltimore, John R, Mack, Woodward, Congress, Washington, and Larned.

Weekdays and Saturdays hourly service from 6 a.m. to 11 p.m., Sundays hourly from 8 a.m. to 5 p.m.

Route 500 boards and deboards at ALL MARKED SMART STOPS AT ALL TIMES. Stay tuned for future service improvements along Mound Road. Please check your schedules on the schedule page ahead of riding at smartmovesus.org or call 866-962-5515.

Due to the Arts, Beats and Eats festival in downtown Royal Oak, Routes 430 Main Street-Big Beaver and 492 Rochester will be on detour Wednesday, September 2, 2026, at 6:00 pm until Tuesday, September 8, 2026, at 8:00 am as follows:

Southbound 430:  Regular route to westbound 11 Mile Rd past Lafayette Ave (Buses will not serve the Royal Oak Transit Center), right Woodward Ave, left 1^st turnback to southbound Woodward Ave past 11 Mile Rd, left 1^st turnback to northbound Woodward Ave, right 11 Mile Rd, end route at stop on southeast corner of 11 Mile and Woodward Ave.

Northbound 430:  Begin route at stop on southeast corner of 11 Mile Rd and Woodward Ave past Washington Ave (Buses will not serve the Royal Oak Transit Center) regular route.

Southbound and Northbound 492:  Regular route to westbound 11 Mile Rd past Lafayette Ave (Buses will not serve the Royal Oak Transit Center), right Woodward Ave, left 1^st turnback to southbound Woodward Ave past 11 Mile Rd, left 1^st turnback to northbound Woodward Ave, right 11 Mile Rd past Washington Ave, regular route.

Routes 430 and 492 passengers wishing to connect with Routes 730 and 740 can transfer at the temporary stops installed at 11 Mile Road and Washington. Those wishing to connect with Route 460 may deboard at the stop on eastbound 11 Mile Rd just east of Woodward and transfer at any bus stop on Woodward Ave.

Routes 460:

Northbound: Regular route to Washington, continue past Washington, past 11 Mile (Buses will not serve the Royal Oak Transit Center), regular route.

Southbound: Regular route to 11 Mile, continue past 11 Mile to Washington/10 Mile (Buses will not serve the Royal Oak Transit Center), regular route.

Route 730:

Eastbound: Regular route from 10 Mile to northbound Woodward, continue past Washington, right 11 Mile past Lafayette (Buses will not serve the Royal Oak Transit Center), regular route.

Westbound: Regular route on 11 Mile to Lafayette, past Lafayette (Buses will not serve the Royal Oak Transit Center), right Woodward, left first turn back to southbound Woodward, keep right at Washington to Zoo stop, regular route.

Routes 730 and 460 passengers may use any stop along Woodward to board and deboard.

Route 740:

Eastbound & Westbound: Regular route to Lafayette, past Lafayette (Buses will not serve the Royal Oak Transit Center), regular route.

Due to the temporary closure of the end of line layover location, Route 710 Nine Mile will be on detour effective Friday, August 28, 2026, until further notice, as follows:

Westbound:  Regular route on 9 Mile Rd, last stop at the bus stop just east of Telegraph Rd, right Telegraph Rd, left 1^st turnback to southbound Telegraph Rd, left 1^st turnback past 9 Mile Rd to northbound Telegraph Rd, right 9 Mile Rd, layover at bus stop just east of Telegraph Rd.

Eastbound:  Begin route at the bus stop on eastbound 9 Mile Rd just east of Telegraph Rd, regular route.

Passengers desiring to deboard at the last bus stop on westbound 9 Mile Rd just west of Telegraph Rd, must do so at the bus stop on westbound 9 Mile Rd just east Telegraph Rd. Passengers desiring to board at the first bus stop on eastbound 9 Mile Rd just west of Telegraph Rd, must do so at the bus stop on eastbound 9 Mile Rd just east Telegraph Rd.

Construction on Summit Dr between Mall Dr and Pontiac Lake Rd has been completed. Therefore, Route 790 Pontiac Crosstown will resume regular route effective immediately.

Due to sewer and road construction work on Jefferson Ave, between 9 Mile Rd and 12 Mile Rd, Route 615 Jefferson will be on detour beginning Wednesday, August 26, 2026, until further notice as follows:

Southbound: Regular route on southbound Jefferson Ave to 12 Mile Rd, right 12 Mile Rd, left Harper Ave, left 10 Mile Rd, right Greater Mack Ave past 9 Mile Rd, regular route.

Northbound: Regular route on northbound Greater Mack past 9 Mile Rd, left 10 Mile Rd, right Harper Ave, right 12 Mile Rd, left Jefferson Ave, regular route.

Southbound: Regular route on southbound Jefferson Ave to 12 Mile Rd, right 12 Mile Rd, left Harper Ave, left 10 Mile Rd, right Greater Mack Ave, left 9 Mile Rd, right Jefferson Ave, regular route.

Northbound: Will operate on regular route.

Construction on Beech Daly between Lyndon and Graham Rd has been completed. Therefore, Route 280 will resume regular routing effective immediately.

Due to building demolition on the corner of Pike and Perry, the bus stop on northbound Perry, just north of Pike is temporarily closed, effective immediately.

Passengers desiring board/deboard at this stop may do so at the temporary bus stop located one block north next to McLaren Oakland Hospital.

Due to construction on Washington Ave between 4^th and 6th, Route 730 Ten Mile Crosstown will be on detour effective immediately until further notice as follows:

Westbound:  Regular route to the Royal Oak Transit Center, left Washington Ave, left 11 Mile Rd, left Lafayette Ave, left 6^th, right Washington Ave, regular route.

Eastbound:  Will operate on regular route.

Due to construction on Pardee Rd just south of Northline Rd, Route 160 Downriver will be on detour effective immediately until further notice, as follows:

Northbound: Will operate on regular route.

Southbound: Regular route on westbound Northline Rd, left Racho Rd, right Superior Rd, left Pardee Rd, regular route.

Due Construction on Rochester Rd between 13 Mile Rd and 14 Mile Rd, Route 492 Rochester will be on detour effective immediately, until further notice, as follows:

Southbound: Regular route on southbound Rochester Rd to 14 Mile Rd, left 14 Mile Rd, right Campbell Rd, right 12 Mile Rd, left Rochester Rd, regular route.

Northbound: Regular route on northbound Rochester Rd to 12 Mile Rd, right 12 Mile Rd, left Campbell Rd, left 14 Mile Rd, right Rochester Rd, regular route.

Passengers traveling southbound may board/deboard at the stop on eastbound 14 Mile Rd, just east of Rochester Rd.

Due to construction on southbound Old Woodward Ave, and on Bowers, Route 450 Woodward Local will be on detour effective immediately until further notice as follows:

Northbound:  Regular route past Elm/Bowers, left 1^st turnback to southbound Woodward Ave, right Bowers, regular route.

Southbound:  Regular route on southbound Woodward Ave past Old Woodward, continue past Bowers, regular route.

During this detour, southbound trips will not be serving stops on Bowers, or Old Woodward Ave. Northbound trips will not be serving the stop on Elms.

Beginning Monday, July 6, 2026, Charlevoix St will be closed to thru traffic from Alter to Beaconsfield. All trips will be detoured during construction until further notice. Detoured routing is as follows:

Northbound: regular route to northbound Alter, pass Charlevoix, right Mack, right Nottingham, left Charlevoix, regular route to Macomb Mall.

Southbound: regular route to westbound Charlevoix, right Balfour, left Mack, left Alter, pass Charlevoix, regular route to downtown Detroit.

Stops along Charlevoix between Alter and Balfour (SB) and Nottingham (NB) will not be served at this time. Riders in this area wishing to board or deboard may do so at any safe location along Balfour or Nottingham, or along the detoured section of Alter, at driver’s discretion.

Beginning June 22, 2026, select Route 780 15 Mile trips into the Grand Haven senior complex east of John R Rd will be discontinued.

Fixed route service will remain accessible nearby at John R Rd across from Grand Haven Dr (SB) and John R Rd & Lovington nearside (NB) on Routes 780 and 492.

Passengers wishing to access the Grand Haven Towers directly may continue to do so using the SMART Flex Troy shuttle 7 days a week. Paratransit service to the senior complex for qualifying riders remains unaffected.

Minor trip time changes accompany this adjustment. Please check your schedules ahead of riding.

Beginning June 19, 2026, select Route 140 Southshore trips to the Henry Ford Academy Student Gate on Village Rd east of Oakwood Blvd will be discontinued.

Fixed route service will remain accessible nearby at Oakwood Blvd & Village Rd in both directions on route 140 once Oakwood Blvd construction has concluded. In the meantime, due to construction. all stops on Oakwood Blvd between Michigan Ave and Rotunda Dr will be closed on all trips.

Passengers wishing to access the Henry Ford Academy Student Gate directly, as well as riders along the affected span of Oakwood Blvd, may continue to do so using the SMART Flex Dearborn shuttle 7 days a week as safety permits. Paratransit service to the academy for qualifying riders remains unaffected.

Due to construction on Baldwin Ave, between Cesar E Chavez Ave and Montcalm, Route 462 FAST Woodward will be on detour beginning Monday, June 15, 2026, until further notice, as follows:

Northbound: Regular route to northbound Saginaw past Oakland Ave, left Montcalm, right Baldwin Ave, regular route.

Southbound: Regular route to southbound Baldwin Ave, left Montcalm, right Saginaw past Oakland Ave, regular route.

Due to ongoing sewer construction work on Jefferson between Downing and Lange, the bus stop on southbound Jefferson and Blackburn #20884 will be reopened, and the bus stop on southbound Jefferson and Fresard #22696 will remain temporarily closed effective Friday, January 9, 2026, until further notice.
