Due to events in downtown Ferndale, Route 710 Nine Mile will be on detour beginning Friday, September 20, 2024 at 6:00 am through Monday, September 23, 2024 at 7:00 am or until streets are cleared as follows:

Due to construction on northbound 11 Mile Rd, Route 405 Northwestern Hwy will be on detour effective immediately until further notice as follows:

Construction on County Center Dr E between Telegraph Rd and Power House Dr has been completed. Therefore, Route 790 Pontiac Crosstown will resume regular routing in this area effective immediately.

The bus stops on westbound Michigan Ave at Woodcroft Dr, and eastbound Michigan Ave at Westwood have been closed indefinitely, effective immediately.

Due to construction on Eureka Rd near Biddle Ave, Route 140 Southshore will be on detour beginning Thursday, September 5, 2024, until further notice as follows:

Southbound:  Regular route on southbound Biddle Ave past Eureka Rd, right Pine, right 3^rd, left Eureka Rd, regular route.

Northbound:  Will operate on regular route.

Beginning Monday, September 2, 2024, all routes in all directions serving the Taylor Meijer at Southland Mall will only service the existing north side stop closest to Meijer. The stop on the south side, closest to the Wendy’s lot will be closed.  This will include the following routes:

125 Fort Street-Eureka Rd, 160 Downriver, & 275 Telegraph.

Beginning September 2, 2024 Route 740 Twelve Mile will continue the same routing it has followed on Twelve Mile in front of 12 Oaks Mall and will not pull into 12 Oaks Mall until further notice. This routing is as follows:

Eastbound: Regular route past Novi Rd, continue straight to stop on eastbound 12 Mile Rd past 12 Oaks Mall Rd, regular route.

Westbound:  Regular route to westbound 12 Mile to Meadowbrook Rd, left at fourth turnback past Meadowbrook Rd at McDonald’s to eastbound 12 Mile, service eastbound stop at 12 Oaks Mall Rd, left next turnback to westbound 12 Mile, regular route.

Due to road construction closing State Street, 790 Pontiac Crosstown is on detour until further notice. Temporary routing is as follows: 

Eastbound (to Marketplace Circle):  Regular route to eastbound Elizabeth Lake, right onto N. Johnson, left Huron, continue straight past State, resume regular route to Marketplace Circle. 

Westbound (to Baldwin & Columbia): Regular route to westbound Huron, continue straight past State, right N. Johnson, left Elizabeth Lake, resume regular route to Baldwin & Columbia. 

Bus stops on State St. between N. Johnson & Huron will not be served during this detour; passengers wishing to ride in this area can board at marked SMART stops on Elizabeth Lake west of N. Johnson or Huron east of State St.

Due to construction on the MLK Blvd bridge, the railroad crossing on South Blvd at Sanford, and on Square Lake Rd, Route 796 buses will be on detour effective Monday, August 19, 2024 until further notice as follows:

Eastbound: Regular route to southbound MLK Blvd, left South Blvd, right Centerpoint Pkwy to bus stop just west of Opdyke Rd.

Westbound: From layover left Opdyke Rd, left South Blvd, right MLK Blvd, regular route.

Due to construction at the intersection of Masonic and Kelly Rd, Route 525 Groesbeck buses will be on detour effective immediately as follows:

Due to construction on Chalfonte Ave between Kerby Rd and Lothrop Rd, Route 620 Charlevoix will be on detour effective immediately, until further notice as follows:

Northbound:  Regular route on eastbound Charlevoix Ave past Fisher Rd, left Kerby Rd, right Chalfonte Ave, regular route.

Southbound: Regular route southbound Chalfonte Ave, left Kerby Rd, right Charlevoix Ave past Moran Rd, regular route.

Due to construction on eastbound 9 Mile Rd between Evergreen Rd and Lahser Rd, Route 710 Nine Mile will be on detour effective Thursday, July 18, 2024, until further notice as follows:

Westbound:  Will operate on regular route.

Eastbound:  Regular route on eastbound 9 Mile Rd to Lahser Rd, left Lahser Rd, right 10 Mile Rd, right Northwestern Hwy Service Dr, right Evergreen Rd, left 9 Mile Rd, regular route.

Drivers should be prepared to pick up and drop off along the detour route at any SMART bus stop, and any other location where a passenger flags the driver, and it is safe to do so.

Due to construction on the Van Dyke service ramp to westbound 14 Mile Rd, Route 760 13 Mile-14 Mile will be on detour effective immediately until further notice as follows:

Eastbound: Will operate on regular route.

Westbound: Regular route on 13 Mile Rd to Hoover Rd, right Hoover Rd, continue into Chicago Rd, left 14 Mile Rd past Van Dyke Ave, regular route.

Due to construction on Crooks Rd at 13 Mile Rd, Route 430 Main Street-Big Beaver Royal Oak High School trips will be on detour effective immediately until further notice as follows:

Southbound:  Regular route to southbound Crooks Rd to Normandy Rd, left Normandy, right Main past 13 Mile Rd, regular route.

Northbound:  Regular route to northbound Main past 13 Mile Rd, left Normandy Rd, right Crooks Rd, regular route.

Passengers desiring to board/deboard at the stops on northbound and southbound bus stops on Crooks Rd must do so at the temporary stops on Normandy, just east of Crooks Rd.

While Lakeside Mall will be closing on Monday, July 1, 2024, the bus stop at this location will remain open until further notice. During the revitalization of the Lakeside Mall property, the bus stop will be relocated as needed. SMART will be sure to inform the public whenever the need for relocation of this bus stop arises. Once the revitalization process is complete, a permanent bus stop will be established on the property.

Due to construction at the intersection of 23 and Gratiot Route 560 Gratiot trips to New Baltimore ONLY will be detoured as follows:

Northbound trips to New Baltimore:  Regular route on northbound Gratiot to Cotton, right Cotton, serve temporary stop on eastbound Cotton, third left to northbound Waterside, keep right at traffic circle to continue on northbound Waterside, right 23 Mile, regular route.

Southbound trips from New Baltimore: Regular route past I-94, left Waterside, keep straight through traffic circle to remain on southbound Waterside, right Cotton, left Gratiot, regular route.

Temporary stops will be installed for northbound trips to New Baltimore on eastbound Cotton east of Gratiot and for southbound trips from New Baltimore on southbound Waterside just south of 23 Mile.

Due to construction on Lakeview Dr at Somerset Mall, Route 461 FAST Woodward will be on detour effective immediately until further notice as follows:

Due to the construction on westbound Marketplace Circle, Route 790 buses will be on detour effective immediately, as follows:

Westbound: Begin trip on eastbound Marketplace Circle across from the stop in front of the Extended Stay America, right Adams Rd past Marketplace Circle, regular route.

Eastbound: Regular route to eastbound Adams Rd, left first entrance to Marketplace Circle, last stop across from the stop in front of Walmart.

Passengers desiring to board and deboard on Marketplace Circle may do so directly across from the assigned bus stops.

Due to unforeseen issues all stops between on 9 Mile between Harper and Jefferson will not be served by Route 710 Nine Mile. Please note Route 615 Jefferson will still be serving regular stops assigned to that route. All 710 Nine Mile trips will begin and end on 9 Mile west of Harper.

Eastbound: End route at stop on 9 Mile, west of Harper in front of Kroger building.

Westbound: Begin route at bus shelter on westbound 9 Mile, just west of Harper.

Due to gas line work on eastbound 9 Mile Rd just east of Hoover Rd, the bus stop at this location will be temporarily relocated 250 ft eastward effective Monday, April 1, 2024, until further notice.

Due to construction work on 8 Mile Rd at Telegraph Rd, and northbound Telegraph between Grand River Ave and 7 Mile Rd, Routes 275 & 375 will be on detour effective Friday, March 22, 2024, until further notice as follows.

Due to construction on the Southfield Rd bridge over the Ecorse River, Route 140 Southshore will be on detour beginning Tuesday, January 9, 2024 until further notice as follows:

Southbound:  Regular route on southbound Southfield Rd to Fort, right Fort, left 1^st turnback to northbound Fort, right Outer Dr, right Jefferson Ave past Southfield Rd, regular route.

Northbound:  Regular route on Jefferson Ave past Southfield Rd, left Outer Dr, right Fort, left 1^st turnback to southbound Fort, right Southfield Rd, regular route.

Southbound passengers desiring to board/deboard at the stop on eastbound Southfield Rd just east of Fort, may do so at the stop on northbound Fort, just north of Southfield Rd. Northbound passengers desiring to board/deboard at the stop on westbound Southfield Rd just west of Jefferson Ave, may do so at the temporary stop on northbound Jefferson Ave, just north of Southfield Rd.

Effective Monday, October 16, 2023, due to ongoing safety concerns at 12 Mile Road near Beck Road, Route 805 Grand River Park & Ride will be detoured until further notice. Modified routing is as follows:

Westbound: Regular route to Novi Road, right 12 Mile Road, left first turnback to westbound 12 Mile Road, end route at the first stop on 12 Mile Road west of Novi Road.

Eastbound: Trips will begin at the first stop on southbound Novi Road south of 12 Mile Road, outside Midas.

Service on 12 Mile Road west of Novi and to the Beck-12 carpool lot will be discontinued until further notice. 805 passengers wishing to ride into Detroit can utilize SMART’s other park & ride lots at Halsted & Hallwood (Bonaventure Skate Center), Beech-Daly & Graham (Western Graham Fields), or eastbound Schoolcraft & Fenton.

Due to the Construction on southbound Fort just south of Outer Dr, the bus stop just south of Outer Dr will be temporarily closed, effective immediately until further notice.

Due to construction at the corner of Maryland and Jefferson Ave, the bus stop on southbound Maryland north of Jefferson Ave has been temporarily relocated 100 ft northward, effective Monday, July 31, 2023 until further notice.

Due to road construction on Gratiot Ave between 14 Mile Rd and Wellington Crescent, the following bus stops will be temporarily closed, beginning Monday April 10, 2023 until further notice. The chart below lists all stops along this section of Gratiot, with the stops that will be closed highlighted in grey.  If your stop has been closed, please proceed to the next closest stop listed.

Due to the water main construction on westbound Grand River Ave between I-275 and Haggerty Rd, the bus stop located on Grand River just west of I-275 will be temporarily closed beginning Friday, September 9, 2022 until further notice.
