Service Bulletins

SMART will not operate regular service along Woodward Ave between the Jason Hargrove Transit Center and downtown Pontiac during the Woodward Dream Cruise on Saturday, August 15, 2026.  Woodward Routes 450/460 and FAST Woodward Routes 461/462 will operate as normally scheduled but will detour north of the Jason Hargrove Transit Center due to the severe traffic congestion from the Woodward Dream Cruise.

Regular fares apply for all SMART service including Woodward Local and Woodward FAST on Saturday, August 15.  Passengers may board SMART buses at any signed bus stop along the detour route.  See map on reverse side for detour routing.

SMART courtesy shuttles will be available free of charge along Woodward Avenue beginning at 9:00 AM, to transfer passengers along the Dream Cruise Route between Ferndale and Pontiac.

Due to Woodward Dream Cruise events in downtown Pontiac, Routes 450 Woodward and 462 FAST Woodward will not serve the Phoenix Center bus stop at Saginaw and Water or the bus stop on Perry and Pike beginning at 6:00 pm Friday, August 14 and all day Saturday, August 15, 2026.  Routing through downtown Pontiac will be detoured due to traffic conditions as follows:

FRIDAY, AUGUST 14

450 Woodward:
Northbound:  Regular route on northbound Woodward Ave past Pike, left University Dr, left Mill, right Huron, end of route at temporary SMART bus stop on Huron/Perry at the Grace Center.
Southbound:  From bus stop at Huron/Perry, continue past Perry, regular route.

462 FAST Woodward:
Northbound:  Regular route on northbound Woodward Ave past Pike, left University Dr, left Mill, right Huron to stop on Huron/Perry at the Grace Center, continue to right Saginaw past Oakland Ave, left Montcalm, right Baldwin Ave, regular route.

Southbound: Regular route to southbound Baldwin Ave, left Montcalm, right Saginaw past Oakland Ave, left University, right Mill, right Huron (board/deboard passengers on Huron/Perry at the Grace Center), continue Huron to left Woodward Ave past Pike, regular route.

SATURDAY, AUGUST 15

450 Woodward:
Northbound:  From bypass route on westbound University Dr, continue across Woodward Ave, left Mill, right Huron to temporary SMART bus stop on Huron/Perry at the Grace Center (end of route).
Southbound:  From bus stop at Huron/Perry, right Perry, right University Dr, right Mill, left Huron across Woodward Ave to bypass route.

462 FAST Woodward:
Northbound:  From bypass route on westbound University Dr, continue across Woodward Ave, left Mill, right Huron to temporary SMART bus stop on Huron/Perry at the Grace Center, right Saginaw past Oakland Ave, left Montcalm, right Baldwin Ave, regular route.

Southbound: Regular route to southbound Baldwin Ave, left Montcalm, right Saginaw past Oakland Ave, left University Dr, right Mill, right Huron (board/deboard passengers on Huron/Perry at the Grace Center), right Perry, right University, right Mill, left Huron across Woodward Ave to bypass route.

Due to the Pontiac Roadkill event on Woodward Ave between Nebraska Ave and Rapid, Routes 450 Woodward and 462 FAST Woodward will be on detour beginning 9:00 PM Thursday, August 6, 2026, through 9:00 AM Sunday, August 9, 2026, as follows:

Northbound: Regular route on northbound Woodward Ave, right Square Lake Rd, left 1^st turnback to westbound Square Lake Rd, right Franklin Rd, right Rapid, left Woodward Ave, regular route.

Southbound: Regular route to southbound Woodward, right Rapid, left Franklin Rd, left Square Lake Rd, right Woodward Ave, regular route.

Due to building demolition on the corner of Pike and Perry, the bus stop on northbound Perry, just north of Pike is temporarily closed, effective immediately.

Passengers desiring board/deboard at this stop may do so at the temporary bus stop located one block north next to McLaren Oakland Hospital.

Due to construction on southbound Old Woodward Ave, and on Bowers, Route 450 Woodward Local will be on detour effective immediately until further notice as follows:

Northbound:  Regular route past Elm/Bowers, left 1^st turnback to southbound Woodward Ave, right Bowers, regular route.

Southbound:  Regular route on southbound Woodward Ave past Old Woodward, continue past Bowers, regular route.

During this detour, southbound trips will not be serving stops on Bowers, or Old Woodward Ave. Northbound trips will not be serving the stop on Elms.
