Fares

K-12, college, and university students ride free with valid student ID effective Monday, May 4, 2026. Present your ID to the driver when boarding. 

SMART riders have access to Transit Royale through a partnership with the RTA of Southeast Michigan. All DART Regional passes (DDOT + SMART) are valid for travel on any SMART fixed route.

Note: Wayne State students, faculty, and staff receiving free DART passes through WayneRides must select the appropriate fare category in Transit. WayneRides users must download the standalone Token Transit application first and set up an account. Follow the instructions on the WayneRides website.

Other options for non-student reduced fare are to present the following identification at the time of purchase and boarding:

  • DDOT Reduced Fare ID Pass Card
  • Valid State of Michigan ID or Driver’s License (To verify age of youth or older adults)
  • Medicare Card (NOT Medicaid Cards)
  • School ID card with picture and date of birth
