With a SMART Reduced Fare ID card your ride on SMART is made simple and easy. Young people aged 6 to 18 years, adults over the age of 65, and people with disabilities are eligible to receive reduced fares to ride SMART.
Effective Monday, May 4, 2026, K-12, college, and university students ride fixed-route service free with valid identification. Present your student ID to the driver when boarding. A Reduced Fare ID is not required.
To receive a SMART Reduced Fare ID card, download and fill out an application, and mail back to SMART.
Other options for reduced fare are to present the following identification at the time of purchase and boarding:
- DDOT Reduced Fare ID Pass Card
- Valid Driver's License or state-issued ID (to verify age of youth or older adults)
- Medicare Card (NOT Medicaid Cards)
