Service Bulletins

SMART will not operate regular service along Woodward Avenue between the Jason Hargrove Transit Center and downtown Pontiac during the Woodward Dream Cruise on Saturday, August 16, 2025.  Woodward Routes 450/460 and FAST Woodward Routes 461/462 will operate as normally scheduled but will detour north of the Jason Hargrove Transit Center due to the severe traffic congestion from the Woodward Dream Cruise.

Regular fares apply for all SMART service including Woodward Local and Woodward FAST on Saturday, August 16.  Passengers may board SMART buses at any signed bus stop along the detour route.  See map on reverse side for detour routing.

SMART courtesy shuttles will be available free of charge along Woodward Avenue beginning at 9:00 AM, to transfer passengers along the Dream Cruise Route between Ferndale and Pontiac.

462 FAST Woodward:

Due to the Ferndale Woodward Dream Cruise events being held on E. and W. 9 Mile Rd, Route 710 Nine Mile will be on detour from Friday, August 15, 2025, until Sunday, August 17, 2025, at 8:00 am as follows:

Due to the annual Berkley CruiseFest parade and activities in the downtown Berkley area, Route 740 Twelve Mile Crosstown will be on detour beginning Friday, August 15, 2025 at 5:00 pm until midnight as follows:

Westbound:  Regular route to northbound Coolidge Hwy, left Catalpa Dr, right Greenfield Rd, left 12 Mile Rd, regular route.

Eastbound:  Regular route on eastbound 12 Mile Rd to Greenfield Rd, right Greenfield Rd, left Catalpa Dr, right Coolidge Hwy, regular route.

Due to Woodward Dream Cruise events in downtown Pontiac, Route 796 Pontiac-Perry-Opdyke will not serve the Phoenix Center bus stop at Saginaw and Water or the bus stop on Perry and Pike beginning at 6:00 pm Friday, August 15, 2025.  Routing through downtown Pontiac will be detoured due to traffic conditions as follows:

The flood repair activity at Oakland Mall near the Dick’s Sporting Goods entrance has ended. Therefore, Routes 492, 495, 760, and 780 will resume regular routing, effective immediately.

Construction on westbound Maple between Coolidge Hwy and Eton has been completed. Therefore, the bus stops in the construction zone have reopened effective immediately.

Due to the railroad crossing repair work at the intersection of Joslyn Ave and Brown Rd, Route 462 FAST Woodward will be on detour effective immediately through Sunday, August 24, 2025, as follows:

Northbound:  Will operate on regular route.

Southbound: From layover left Brown Rd, left Baldwin Rd, left Great Lakes Crossing Dr, left 1^st driveway, regular route.

Due to construction on westbound 13 Mile Rd east of Van Dyke Ave, Route 760 13 Mile-14 Mile will be on detour effective immediately, until further notice as follows:

Due to the railroad track maintenance on King Rd between Fort and Jefferson Ave, Routes 160 Downriver and 830 Downriver Park & Ride will be on detour beginning Monday, June 30, 2025, until further notice, as follows:

Southbound: Regular route on southbound Fort to Sibley Rd, left 1^st turnback past Sibley Rd to northbound Fort, right Sibley Rd, right Jefferson Ave past King Rd, regular route.

Southbound:  Regular route to northbound Northwestern Hwy Service Dr, right 2^nd driveway past Rutland Ave to Park and Ride lot, turn around in lot to exit at Northwestern Hwy service Dr, right Northwestern Hwy Service Dr, right 9 Mile Rd past Rutland, right Providence Dr, right N Park Dr, left Northwestern Hwy service Dr, left entrance to southbound M-10 ramp past Greenfield Rd, regular route.

Northbound:  Regular route to northbound Northwestern Hwy Service Dr past Rutland Ave, right 2^nd driveway past Rutland Ave to Park and Ride lot, turn around in lot to exit at Northwestern Hwy service Dr, right Northwestern Hwy Service Dr, right 9 Mile Rd past Rutland Ave, regular route.

Stops on Greenfield Rd between 8 Mile Rd and 9 Mile Rd will not be served.

Due to construction on Rutland Ave between 9 Mile Rd and Northwestern Hwy Service Dr, Route 405 Northwestern Hwy will be on detour beginning Tuesday, May 20, 2025, until further notice, as follows:

Westbound:  Regular route to westbound 9 Mile Rd past Rutland, right Evergreen Rd past Northwestern Hwy Service Dr, regular route.

Eastbound:  Regular route to northbound Northwestern Hwy Service Dr past Rutland Ave, right 9 Mile Rd past Rutland Ave, regular route.

Passengers traveling westbound desiring to board/deboard at the Rutland and 9 Mile Rd, or OCC Southfield bus stops, may board/deboard at the bus stops on westbound 9 Mile Rd between Providence Dr and Southfield Rd.

Due to water main replacement work on Gratiot Ave between Toepfer Dr and 10 Mile Rd, the following northbound bus stops will be temporarily closed, beginning Monday, February 24, 2025 until further notice.

Due to the closure of Larned between St. Antoine and I-375, Routes 255, and 830 will be on detour effective immediately until further notice, as follows:

Eastbound:  Regular route to Larned. End route at Larned and Brush stop.

Due to road construction on M53 north of 18 Mile Rd, trips on Route 510 may run behind at times, especially during rush hour until further notice. Your patience during this time is appreciated.

Passengers should consider taking earlier trips when they must reach their destination at a specific time.

Due to the closure of Lakeside Mall the bus stop at the mall entrance as well as the stop on eastbound Hall Rd east of Schoenherr will be closing on Monday, October 21, 2024.  Routes 510 Van Dyke, 530 Schoenherr, and 550 Garfield will no longer pull up to Lakeside Mall but will instead use the stops on Southcove Drive at Kohl’s and McDonald’s as their starting and ending points.  Routes will be redirected to these stops as follows:

Northbound 510 Van Dyke: Regular route to Schoenherr Rd, right Schoenherr Rd, left turn back past Southcove Dr (fourth turn back from Hall) to northbound Schoenherr Rd, right Southcove Dr, end route at stop on eastbound Southcove Dr at McDonald’s.

Southbound 510 Van Dyke: Begin route at stop on westbound Southcove Dr at Kohl’s, right Schoenherr Rd, right Hall Rd, left first turn back to westbound Hall Rd, regular route.

Northbound 530 Schoenherr: Regular route to eastbound Southcove Dr, end route on Southcove Dr at McDonald’s stop.

Southbound 530 Schoenherr: Begin route at stop on westbound Southcove Dr at Kohl’s, regular route.

Northbound 550 Garfield: Regular route to westbound Shoreline Dr, left Lakeside Circle, left Southcove Dr, end route at Kohl’s stop.
