SUBJECT:       FY2024 Board of Directors Meetings

 

 

Listed below are the SMART Board of Directors meetings scheduled for FY2024.  The Board meetings, with the exception of the meeting scheduled for August 24, 2023, are held every fourth Thursday of the month at 2:00 p.m.  The meeting place for all meetings, with the exception of the meeting scheduled for August 24, 2023, will be at the SMART offices in the Board Room at 535 Griswold, Suite 600, Detroit, Michigan 48226 or by public conference call. 

 

The Board meeting scheduled for August 24, 2023, will take place at Macomb County Community College, 44575 Garfield Road, Clinton Township, MI 48038 at 6 p.m.

 

Due to the Holiday Season, the Board meetings for the months of November and December will be combined and are currently scheduled for Thursday, December 7, 2023.

Drive A Bus With Us June 13th 10am-7pm

Join the SMART team! Opportunities for bus operators, mechanics, coach service and shelter attendants are available,
and you can complete an application, secure an interview and get hired the same day. The career fair is hosted in
partnership with Oakland County Michigan Works! and is open to all job seekers in the Wayne, Macomb and Oakland
county communities. Which means you’ll also have access to information about services Michigan Works! offers to
help eligible job seekers get to day one on the job.

Oakland County will grant applications for $1,200 childcare scholarships.
Oakland County Michigan Works! service centers will determine whether an
individual is eligible for the childcare scholarship. Criteria include:
• Oakland County resident.
• Returning to work or pursuing a post-secondary degree or credential
• Impacted by COVID-19.
• Either 300 percent of the US Federal Poverty level or eligible for specific
program support.
• In some cases, the individual must also be housing insecure, food insecure
or unemployed.

SMART will help you obtain a CDL:
• Experience desired but not required.
• 8 weeks of training provided – $16.50 during training, $19.11 upon successful
completion of training.
• Customer service skills.
• Trained by experienced SMART staff.

for the Clean Slate Program and other career and employment assistance.

The MiWorks! service center assists more than 105,000 job seekers annually.
• Services include career coaching, interviewing and job search workshops,
placement assistance, training courses and job trend information.
• The MiWorks! service center staffs remain available by appointment to work
one-on-one with job seekers to build their resumes, prepare for job interviews
and help address other needs to schedule a meeting, call 248.858.5520
and select the office nearest to you. The service centers are hosting
several virtual workshops for job seekers. A schedule can be found at

492 Rochester Road – new route on Rochester Road from Troy through Rochester to Auburn Hills.

740 Twelve Mile – extend current route from Farmington Hills through Novi to Wixom.

759 Highland Road – new route from Auburn Hills through Pontiac, Waterford and White Lake Twp. along M-59.

790 Pontiac Perry/Opdyke – modify current route to better serve Pontiac and Auburn Hills. 805 Grand River P&R – extend current service from Farmington Hills to Novi.

851 W. Bloomfield/Farmington Hills P&R – extend current route from W. Bloomfield through Orchard Lake, Keego Harbor and Sylvan Lake via Orchard Lake Road.

760 Thirteen Mile/Fourteen Mile - discontinue route on Saturdays only.
