SMART Advisory Council (SAC)

The SMART Advisory Council (SAC) is a comprised of individuals who serve to advocate for the interests of Older Adults and Persons with Disabilities using SMART services.

This panel includes 14 voting members with 4 members each representing Wayne, Oakland and Macomb Counties and 2 members representing Monroe County. In addition, two regional non-voting members are appointed. Together, they review and advise on proposed SMART Board of Director policy changes which affect Older Adults and Persons with Disabilities.

SAC meetings are open to the public and are held quarterly on the third Friday of the month starting at 9:00am. These meetings allow Advisory Council members a forum to review information, discuss concerns and improvements and advise SMART staff on transit issues. Locations for individual meetings are posted on the “Public Notices” page of SMART’s website.
